Text Box: In the world of science, people have often held to the belief that old ways always give way to newer and better ways of seeing the world. For example, the view that the earth was flat gave way to a deeper (and more accurate) understandings of the nature of the world and of the universe itself.

But, in some ways weíve been much slower to understand the nature of our own bodies. For centuries, science had rejected the idea that mind and body strongly influence one another: They were seen as separate entities. In the last several decades, our understanding of the many pathways in which mind (non-material) and body (material) worlds intersect has grown. We are now in the stage of expanding our awareness of treatment approaches that utilize these mind-body intersections and are witnessing great therapeutic benefits.

A recent issue of Newsweek magazine (09/27/04) was largely devoted to mind-body medicine. It highlighted the many conditions that are now being approached in new ways as Text Box: a result of the growing understanding of how much healing depends upon a working partnership between mind & body.
At PPP we utilize an integrated mind-body approach to treatment to address issues such as Irritable bowel syndrome or other psychophysiologic disorders, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, chronic headache, and infertility.
